Description:
In November 2019, the Department of Justice's (DOJ) Antitrust Division announced a new, multi-agency task force charged with identifying, investigating, and prosecuting bid-rigging in the government procurement process. Since then, the Procurement Collusion Strike Force (PCSF) has trained more than 50 federal, state, and local government agencies in detecting government procurement bid-rigging, which has resulted in charges against government contractors and the opening of several grand jury investigations. The panel, including the incoming Director of the PCSF and Miller & Chevalier antitrust and government contracts Members Lauren E. Briggerman and Alex L. Sarria, will convene around the one-year anniversary of the PCSF to assess its impact on the government procurement world thus far and its focus going forward. The panel will also provide tips to government contractors to help them remain vigilant of "red flags" in the procurement process and compliant with relevant procurement and antitrust-related laws.
