Dear Colleague,
You are invited to a round-table discussion on October 29th to mark the 20th anniversary of the signing of UN Security Council resolution 1325.
The resolution:
- Acknowledged the disproportionate and unique impact of armed conflict on women and girls;
- Recognized the under-valued and under-utilized contributions women make to conflict prevention, peacekeeping, conflict resolution, and peace-building;
- Stressed the importance of women’s equal and full participation as active agents in peace and security.
|
|
So how far have women been fully brought into peace-building processes, and how have public, private and civic sectors, helped or hindered women’s participation?
Join a distinguished panel and bring your own questions to this interactive discussion.
