Dear Colleague,
A primary benefit of being a member of ISOA is for you to have access to key decision-makers in the US government, particularly in the Department of Defense, and the State Department. This access can either be in the form of direct contact with government officials, or via ISOA in order to maintain anonymity.
ISOA has a bi-weekly meeting with senior officials in the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) in order to resolve current issues surrounding the work your company does in the contingency and stability operations arenas. We discuss acquisition and contracting-related issues that are of concern to you and your company.
The recent issues and actions have been:
- The closure of the CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) at Ft. Bliss.
- Visa processing and issuing for contractors.
- Transportation problems for contractors moving in and out of theatre.
- COVID-related restrictions on contractors and companies operating in theatre.
- Contact with senior leaders in CENTCOM and the Army Contracting Command, Rock Island, IL, in order to help resolve these issues.
Similarly, ISOA engages with the State Department and the US Embassies in order to alleviate contracting issues within the theatre of operations.
Please contact me at
howielind@stability-operations.org, if you have an issue that needs to be resolved with DoD, the State Department, or any other governmental body. Our primary purpose is to assure the success of your company.
