Understanding the Pause in the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA):
Risks and Opportunities for GovCon Businesses

March 6, 2025, 10-11am

Webinar

The U.S.'s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) was enacted almost 50 years ago for the purpose of making it unlawful for certain classes of persons and entities to make payments to foreign government officials to assist in obtaining or retaining business. On February 10, the Trump Administration issued an executive order pausing the FCPA for at least 180 days in order to review current enforcement actions and update guidelines and policies. The Administration's reasoning is that overexpansive and unpredictable FCPA enforcement against American citizens and businesses for routine business practices in other nations actively harms American economic competitiveness and, therefore, national security. This pause has created some confusion for businesses conducting government contract work outside of the U.S.

Please join ISOA as expert speaker Charles (Chuck) Duross helps demystify the current situation with FCPA. He will review current FCPA guidelines and the effects of the pause; compliance related issues; and potential changes after the pause, all information you will need to help you make better business decisions. The discussion will be moderated by Ryan O'Quinn, Loyal Source Government Services.

Recommended for senior executives, business development, and legal teams at ISOA companies.

Speakers:

  • Charles (Chuck) Duross, Global co-chair of Morrison Foerster’s Investigations + White Collar Defense Practice Group and former Chief of the FCPA Unit, Fraud Section, Criminal Division, U.S. Department of Justice
  • Ryan O'Quinn, President and Chief Legal Officer, Loyal Source Government Services
